Simple cleaning of a keyboard
The easiest thing to do, of course, is to buy a new keyboard. In addition, there are also waterproof keyboards that can even go in the dishwasher. When we do want to use our keyboard a little more durable, cleaning and polishing the keyboard is the message. To make the keyboard a little cleaner quickly, we first turn the keyboard over and shake it so that all loose dirt is removed. Cleaning the keys can be done with a damp cleaning cloth with disinfectant detergent.
Cleaning a keyboard with compressed air
Compressed air can be used to blow air between the keys so that the dirt also disappears in places where you cannot reach. The sides of the keys can be cleaned with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol. There is also special clay to remove all dirt from between the keys when cleaning the keyboard.
Cleaning Keyboard Components
If you have a little more time when you go to clean a keyboard, you can screw the keyboard apart. You can also loosen the keys with a screwdriver and clean each one separately. The keys can then be soaked in hot water and detergent and brushed clean with a brush. The other half is cleaned with a damp cloth because no moisture should run into the keyboard. Only when everything is thoroughly dry can you put the keyboard back together.
Thoroughly cleaning a keyboard
If you really want to clean thoroughly, you can also put the keys in a laundry bag in the washing machine and clean the rest with a vacuum cleaner. This way you can really completely clean your keyboard.
